The program focuses on enterprise innovation that leverages partnerships with startups to gain competitive advantage through differentiation. This also helps in generating and experimenting with new ideas.
Programme Overview
Innovation in corporations has always been important. This is what keeps them ahead of their competition, creating new products and services. Innovation is aimed at primarily three areas: retain or expand existing markets; create new markets; or bring in efficiencies for operations.
However, traditional methods of R&D led innovation are not enough. They are being supplanted by Open Innovation led newer models such as using Universities (external R&D and IP Creation), Students and customers (Hackathons) and Startups (working as partners, vendors or even as investees of corporations). Of all these, working with startups has been seen as extremely promising. In an Accenture survey in 2018 of over 650 large companies, 93% responded that their company’s long-term success depended on their ability to leverage innovation from startups, but less than 18% felt that their own processes were adequate to do so.
Most executives in organizations have to not just be innovative themselves, but also help build a culture of innovation within their companies. This program helps participants achieve both.

Programme Content
Key Benefits/Takeaways
This program focuses on helping you understand how organizations must leverage start-up led innovation. The program focuses on what it takes to build a culture of innovation within the company, to become more competitive, efficient, and constantly evolving to meet customer needs. Participants will learn to define and leverage the ecosystem of innovation for their industry, understand what specific areas of innovation will help their company stay ahead of the industry growth curve, and how to leverage the company’s internal environment to build cross-functional teams that can achieve this. They will also learn how to present this to the company management (the CXO level as well as the Board Level) to gain their support for sustaining this culture.
Pedagogy
The course will draw from an array of academic consulting papers, presentations created from experience as well as case studies for illustrating and discussing key issues. Lectures and class discussions will enable learning, diffusing their application in diverse global settings.
The course will draw from the practical experience of the faculty who has guided many organizations in building innovation clusters within themselves , and also other practitioners who will visit at specific instances to pass on their wisdom to the participants of the course.
