Programme Overview

Resilient leaders are adept at responding effectively to adversity and assisting their teams in doing the same. Resilience is the life muscle that can be built and strengthened, which helps an individual navigate the challenges of life. Like life, the business world is volatile and unpredictable. This “Resilient Leadership” course is designed for individuals who desire to be adequately prepared for any challenge in life or business.

Resilient leaders operate differently. They know how to stay calm, make smart decisions when problems arise, and see challenges as opportunities to grow and improve. This course is for those who want to be leaders who last and are ready for the future no matter what.

Programme Objective

The course is designed to build leadership resilience with the following specific objectives and learning outcomes:

  • To understand individual resilience, the tools and principles of resilience
  • Practice the techniques of energy shifts (Core to being resilient); state shifts (Shift perspectives & mindsets); Self-awareness & stress response (past personal context, change and its Impact, new behaviors needed, and future actions and success factors).
  • Create sequences of somatic techniques to handle stress, respond, communicate, influence, and embody leadership during stressful times.
  • Applying this practice in various business contexts and honing somatic awareness to influence, harness, and sustain resilience.
  • Create a personalized “Resilience Development Plan” basis learnings and assessment.

Programme Content

  • Understanding our own Individual resilience
  • Dimensions impacting individual resilience
  • Neuroscience behind Resilient Leadership
  • Resilience in Action – practices to understand and manage the cognitive, somatic and emotional aspects influencing resilience
  • Developing individual Resilience Plans that build long term resilience

Key Benefits/Takeaways

Through this course, participants will use practical activities to develop these skills to recover from setbacks, lead with confidence in tough times, and hardwire this ability to become second nature that can hold them in good stead throughout life. Further, practicing the techniques and exercises will build individual and collective resilience in the people and organizations that participants will lead.

Pedagogy

The pedagogy will include somatic practices, reflective techniques, cognitive awareness, psychometric assessment, videos, gestalt circles (group discussions designed to elicit stories from others through skillful facilitation), and individual presentations in class to practice and hone the skills. The course does not intend to teach a case. Still, it will use short business cases across multiple domains and scenarios that create customized solutions/ approaches as a response to case scenarios presented to showcase their learning in applying the principles and techniques.

Participant profile

This program is targeted towards mid-senior leaders in organizations who have experience in people management responsibilities and are struggling to juggle the multiple expectations on them from professional and personal stakeholders. This program is ideally suited for those participants who do not understand what shifts they need to undertake to become more successful in dealing with adversities in their personal and professional lives. This will also be useful for those participants that have a working understanding of the shifts they need to make, however find themselves struggling in how to make those shifts.
