Programme Overview
Strategic stewardship has been increasingly important for business leaders who are facing multifaceted challenges, particularly while dealing with corporate social responsibility, ESG norms, corporate crisis management and proactively avoiding negative public relations. Strategic stewards engage in strategic decision-making aimed at enhancing shareholder value while pursuing innovative, market-friendly strategies that also generate shared value for stakeholders. This short-duration programme is meticulously designed to equip senior leaders with the skills and insights needed to navigate the 21st century’s strategic dilemmas while running their businesses. Participants will learn to understand and balance the diverse needs of their stakeholders, transforming their organizations through effective and innovative strategies.

Programme Objective
Leaders today grapple with critical questions such as “What should be the right price for insulin? Are gig workers employees? How should online speech be regulated, if at all? How much pollution is acceptable?”. This course tries to answer such questions by delving into strategic stewardship, by focusing on enhancing shareholder value while implementing innovative, market-friendly strategies that benefit all stakeholders. Strategic stewards adopt a proactive and integrated approach, considering the interconnected impacts of their decisions on society, markets, and their businesses.

Programme Content
Participants will engage in a hands-on, step-by-step methodology to evaluate and formulate strategies with foundations on social awareness and empathy. The course emphasizes putting the human experience at the centre, understanding the perspectives of various stakeholders, and discovering their explicit and implicit needs.

  • The Design methodology
  • What is good for the firms?
  • What is good for the market?
  • What is good for stakeholders and society?
  • Strategy for the commons

Programme Director

Prateek studies how businesses and markets evolve(d) in history, and in developing countries, and the technological, cultural and institutional causes that drive such evolution. Prateek is an Assistant Professor in Strategy at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). He earned his B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) in 2010 and his Ph.D. from University College London (UCL) in 2018. During his PhD, he was a Research Associate at the Stigler Center at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2016-2018). Additionally, he was affiliated to the Kellogg School of Management and the Center for Economic History at Northwestern University as a Visiting Predoctoral Fellow (2015-2018). Prior to his PhD, he worked as an operations consultant for clients in metals and mining industry (2010-2012). Prateek has also taught operational research methods at the London School of Economics (LSE) (2012-2015), and continues to be an Honorary Research Associate at the UCL School of Management….. Programme Fee
INR 1,05,000/- Residential and INR 90,000/- Non -Residential (+ Applicable GST) per person for participants from India and its equivalent in US Dollars for participants from other countries.

Early Bird Discount
Nominations received with payments on or before 23-Sep-2024 will be entitled to an early bird Discount of 10%.

Group Discount
Group Discount of 5% percentage can be availed for a group of 3 or more participants when nominations received from the same organization.

Please Note

  • All enrolments are subject to review and approval by the programme director. Joining Instructions will be sent to the selected candidates 10 days prior the start of the programme.
  • The programme fee should be received by the Executive Education Office before the programme commencement date.
  • In case of cancellations, the fee will be refunded only if a request is received at least 15 days prior to the start of the programme.
  • If a nomination is not accepted,the fee will be refunded to the person/ organisation concerned.
  • A certificate of participation will be awarded to the participants by IIMB.
