Programme Overview

Leadership is multi-faceted, emerging in diverse situations and often from unexpected individuals. While some seasoned leaders falter, others rise to the occasion, especially in extreme environments— those marked by uncertainty, risk, and high stakes. These contexts reveal the core of effective leadership: strategy, decision making, and adaptive styles. This Programme uses carefully curated cases from both business and nonbusiness settings to explore these critical lessons.

Programme Objective

This course is designed to:

• Instil a deep appreciation of the onerous task of leadership — its complexity, challenges, and responsibilities.
• Acquaint participants with the leader’s critical role in sensemaking, formulating and executing strategy, building an organisation, and enhancing its performance.
• Foster an appreciation of the need to prepare managers and their organisations for dynamic, uncertain environments and crises.
