My 30 years in the manufacturing industry have given me a solid foundation, but I knew I needed to broaden my perspective to achieve my goal of becoming an independent director. It was an enriching experience which helped me to grow personally and professionally in my career. Case study method and roleplaying of C -Suite Executives were most interesting and impactful during lectures.

I came across the General Management Programme for Aerospace and Aviation Executives through professional networks while exploring opportunities to strengthen my management and leadership understanding beyond technical roles. Having spent over a decade in the space sector, I was looking for a programme that could bridge engineering with business and strategic thinking, while also providing exposure to global perspectives in aerospace and aviation.

My learning journey at IIM Bangalore in 2023 was highly enriching. The case-based pedagogy, experienced faculty, and interactions with professionals from aerospace and aviation industries provided valuable insights into strategy, finance, operations, and leadership. The programme helped me connect management concepts with real-world challenges faced in large-scale technology and national programmes.

The GMAE programme at IIM Bangalore gave me more than management frameworks — it gave me a sharper lens through which to see the aviation and aerospace industry. Coming from an operational background, I needed a structured pathway toward strategic thinking. The curriculum worked across the full decision-making stack — business strategy, marketing, aerospace and space economics, and financial analysis — and then asked what it means to lead through all of it. The cohort sharpened this further. Sitting alongside senior professionals from across aviation and aerospace, working through the same problems from different organizational vantage points, accelerates thinking in ways a classroom alone cannot. The IIMB–TBS pathway then extended this internationally, connecting Indian and European industry perspectives in a combination that is genuinely difficult to find elsewhere.

It has contributed positively to my professional growth and has strengthened my ability to approach business challenges with greater confidence and clarity.
