Dr. Mayank Nagpal
Dr. Mayank Nagpal is Assistant Professor of Marketing and Young Research Faculty Chair at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. His research lies at the intersection of marketing strategy, digital transformation, and analytics, with a particular focus on understanding how firms leverage content, technology, and AI to drive market performance. His work employs advanced methods in natural language processing, panel data econometrics, and probabilistic modeling to uncover latent strategic orientations from textual data sources, including corporate disclosures and consumer content. Dr. Nagpal’s work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Retailing and has earned honors, including the Marketing Science Institute’s Young Scholars Grant. He brings a rich blend of academic and industry experience, having taught at Northeastern University and Pennsylvania State University before joining IIMB. He has also worked in consulting and analytics roles at CRISIL, Aptivaa, and ANZ Bank. At IIM Bangalore, Dr. Nagpal teaches core and advanced marketing courses across graduate and executive education programs. His teaching spans areas such as Marketing Management, Marketing Analytics, and Marketing Research. He has also delivered custom sessions for senior executives in sectors such as banking, aviation, and digital strategy.
Apurva Sanaria
Apurva Sanaria has more than 20 years of rich experience across corporate, consulting, and academics including ICICI Group, Future Group, Kantar Group, and T.V. Rao Learning Systems (TVRLS). He has also been a visiting faculty at reputed institutes including XLRI, TISS, and MICA. His last corporate stint was as “Group Director – HR & OD” at IMRB International (Kantar/WPP Group Company) handling employees across 22 countries.
Apurva Sanaria completed PhD in Organizational Behaviour from XLRI-Jamshedpur. He is accredited for FIRO-B (psychometric assessment), Competency Mapping, Assessment & Development Centers (ADCs), and Transactional Analysis (TA). He has contributed to enhancing the effectiveness of various organizations by providing consulting services including Leadership Development, Career & Succession Planning, Competency Mapping, Assessment & Development Centers (ADCs), and Designing Performance Management Systems (PMS). He has also conducted corporate trainings for numerous organizations. He has published papers in top journals (including FT50 journals). His research papers have been selected for presentation at international conferences in India, China, and USA.
