IIM Bangalore’s Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (BAAI) Programme for Executives is designed to equip both experienced and early-career professionals with advanced capabilities in data analytics, artificial intelligence, and decision sciences. The programme emphasizes strategic thinking and responsible AI adoption, going beyond tools and algorithms to help participants understand how to invest in AI, redesign business processes, and lead cross-functional teams in an AI-driven environment.
Participants gain hands-on exposure to real business data, contemporary AI techniques, and emerging technologies such as Generative AI and Agentic AI using low-code/no-code approaches. Aligned with the reskilling initiatives of leading corporations, the programme prepares professionals for AI-enabled roles, enhances career progression, and enables them to contribute meaningfully to their organization’s digital and AI investments over the coming decade.
Programme Objective
The programme equips participants with the ability to build, interpret, and deploy analytical and AI models, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI using low-code/no-code and programming-based approaches. Emphasis is placed on model evaluation, MLOps, explainable AI, and governance, enabling participants to design scalable, responsible, and production-ready AI solutions that support data-driven decision-making and enterprise-wide adoption.
Key Benefits
Dr. U. Dinesh Kumar is a Professor of Decision Sciences at IIM Bangalore and Chairperson of the Data Centre and Analytics Lab (DCAL). He is a pioneer of business analytics education in India and launched one of the country’s first analytics certificate programmes. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from IIT Bombay and has over two decades of academic and consulting experience. He has published 70+ research papers and 40+ case studies with Harvard Business Publishing. Several of his case studies are global bestsellers. He is the author of widely used books on analytics, data visualization, and machine learning.
Dr. Ananth Krishnamurthy is a Professor of Decision Sciences at IIM Bangalore and an IIMB Chair of Excellence. His expertise includes stochastic modeling, optimization, and operations research. His research focuses on supply chains, logistics, manufacturing, and energy systems. He has led several industry and government-funded research projects. He previously served as Director of the Center for Quick Response Manufacturing at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His work blends analytical rigor with real-world applications.
Dr. Jitamitra Desai is a Professor of Decision Sciences at IIM Bangalore and an IIMB Chair of Excellence. He specializes in optimization theory, algorithms, and large-scale computational decision analytics. His research spans transportation, aviation, energy, and network systems. He has published extensively in leading operations research journals. He regularly reviews for top international academic publications. His teaching emphasizes scalable, data-driven decision-making.
