The Executive General Management Programme (EGMP) is a certificate program tailored for functional managers who aspire to transition into general management roles. It focuses on building core business skills and competencies, enabling participants to effectively navigate cross-functional challenges.

Programme Framework & Contents  
Shifting from executing a functional strategy to overseeing a business strategy demands a broader perspective and enhanced expertise. EGMP facilitates this transition by emphasizing key areas such as the Business Environment, Individual and Organizational Competencies, Functional Knowledge (Core Business Domains), and Strategic Thinking.
 
Executive General Management Programme course structure
 

1. Business Environment
An understanding of the fast-changing environment and its impact on business is crucial for success. Topics include Business, Government and Society, Managerial Economics (Micro & Macro), Business Law and General Commercial Knowledge

2. Individual and Organizational Competencies
Continuous enhancement of individual and organizational competencies, business performance is crucial.
Topics include Organizational Structures and Processes, Organizational Behavior and HR, Business Statistics, Resource Optimization and Entrepreneurship

3. Functional Knowledge
An appreciation of key concepts and activities within the primary management functional areas and interconnections among them is essential for aligning the functional areas with the business strategy. Topics include Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Corporate Finance, Operations Management, Information Systems Management and Marketing

4. Strategic Perspective
This module integrates the functional Knowledge gained earlier and allows the managers to take decisions and develop strategies that are appropriate for different environments. Topics include Corporate Strategy & Innovation, Ethics and Governance, Business Simulation Game

  • Develop competence in the disciplines and skills associated with general management.
  • Provide guidance to think through advanced business strategies with a global perspective.

Certificate sample

A part time programme certificate of completion will be awarded by IIMB to participants upon successful completion of the programme and satisfying programme requirements.

Programme fee and schedule

The programme fee is INR 7,50,000 + GST (applicable rates) per participant, payable in three instalments as per the following schedule:

1. Rs.1,00,000/- +Applicable GST Confirmation fee upon offer confirmation
2. Rs.2,00,000/- +Applicable GST – I instalment on admission
3. Rs. 2,25,000/- +Applicable GST – II instalment, Date: 30 July 2025
4. Rs. 2,25,000/- +Applicable GST – III instalment, Date: 30 Oct 2025
