IIM Bangalore was founded in 1973 and is governed by the IIM Bill, 2018. The entrance exam to the MBA program is considered to be one of the most competitive exams in the world. IIMB offers a 2-year MBA, 1-year EPGP, 2-year part-time MBA (PGPEM) and a Ph.D. program.
The Executive Education Department at IIMB has been in operation since the 1980s. However, it became very active in the early 2000s and has impacted thousands of working professionals.
IIMB offers 100+ open programmes including short-duration (3-5 days) and long-duration programmes every year. We also offer nearly 100 custom programmes that are customized to the requirements of the customer. Our corporate customers include MNCs, PSUs, Govt., NGOs, and International B-Schools. During Covid, we offered our programs in Live-Online mode, and continue to offer clients the option of In-Campus and Hybrid delivery mode. IIMB is the only B-School in India that offers 60 MOOC courses on various topics. The MOOCs initiative started in 2014 and we have a fully equipped recording studio with a support staff of more than 30 people. The classrooms and infrastructure are world-class and the campus is lush green.

In the 70s and 80s, IIMB fulfilled the needs of the Government and PSUs. In the early 1990s, IIMB pivoted to focus its efforts on the needs of the Private Sector. IIMB started NSRCEL in 2002, one of the earliest incubation centres in India. In 2014, IIMB became the first B-School to offer MOOCs. IIMB is rated as the most friendly campus for differently abled students.

The Campus
The 100 acres campus is lush green and was designed by Pritzker award-winning architect Padma Bhushan B.V.Doshi. The campus supports diverse flora and fauna. The campus of IIM Bangalore won the 17th spot among ‘The 25 Most Significant Works of Post-War Architecture’, according to The New York Times Style Magazine. The campus is a ‘must-visit” destination for architecture students from across India.

IIMB started offering massive open online courses (MOOCs) in 2014 through its digital learning initiative, IIMBx, in partnership with edX – a not-for-profit online initiative of Harvard and MIT. Apart from edX, the programme offers courses on its own platform, IIMBx, and SWAYAM.
IIMBx offers MOOCs in all areas of management – data and insights, economics, finance, marketing, people management, operations, and strategy. IIMBx’ s vision is to create a positive social impact by leveraging educational technology to create a world-class repository of digital courseware in management for learners across the globe.
