The General Management Programme for Aerospace and Aviation Executives (GMAE) is specifically designed for professionals in the Aviation sector, aiming to enhance their management skills and capabilities.
As the Indian Aviation sector is set for rapid expansion, there is a growing need for professionals who blend technical expertise with managerial acumen to assume leadership roles. Conceived by Executive Education at IIMB, this programme is tailored to equip technical experts with the skills and knowledge necessary to transition into techno-managerial roles within the Aerospace and Aviation industry.
Programme Overview
The Indian Aviation sector is poised for rapid growth. As the industry grows, we see the need for professionals who combine technical skills with managerial acumen to take up leadership roles in this sector. This programme meets the need for managerial resources for the Aerospace and Aviation sector.
Mission
Develop individuals with high-level executive skills for management and leadership, who will become strategy accelerators and change leaders in a customer-driven global network, while being responsible for transmitting high standards and values to their teams.
Objectives
Gather individuals (delegates and contributors) from the aerospace industry and its sub-sectors (aviation, civil aircraft and engines manufacturing, defence and space) and benefit from their experience and expertise, develop and deploy a global and international network of future leaders.
Outcome
Responsible leaders belonging to an international network, who are able to lead and implement the necessary changes to help their company cope with the current and future challenges.

Professor – Strategy

Dr. S Raghunath has been Professor of Strategy at IIM Bangalore and the Chairperson of the Centre For Corporate Governance at IIM Bangalore. His work has focused on themes in corporate governance, such as differing roles of company boards, strategic decisions and execution oversight, contribution of independent directors and the implications of cyber security and risk management for board members.
He is a certified trainer in corporate governance by the Global Corporate Governance Forum, sponsored under the aegis of the World Bank and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and administered by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Washington. He has been offering the Company Directors Programme on Board Best Practices at IIM Bangalore for the past fifteen years.

Professor G Shainesh has over two decades of research and teaching experience in India and abroad. He has conducted collaborative research and teaching assignments at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), HEC Paris, Audencia Nantes and IESEG (France), Vienna University and MCI Innsbruck (Austria), Bocconi University (Milan), Curtin University of Technology (Perth) and the American University of Armenia (Yerevan). His research and teaching focus on Digital Marketing Strategies, CRM, Services Marketing and Service Innovations.
At IIMB, Shainesh has served as Chair – EEP (2020-23), Dean – Administration (2014-17), Chair – EPGP (2013-14) and Chair – Student Exchange Program (2006-09). Programme design
The focus of GMAE programme is the study of core management subjects dedicated to the management of Aerospace and Aviation sector. The second year of the GEMBA is dedicated to the study of specialised tracks relating to Aerospace and Aviation Sub-Sectors, Management Challenges and supervised projects. The programme also offers international immersion week in Toulouse during the first year where participants are given the opportunity to visit some of the leading Aerospace companies in Toulouse and attend sessions delivered by industry practitioners and TBS, IIMB faculty.
The programme is delivered by both faculty members from TBS and IIMB together with industry experts from Aeronautics, Aviation, Space & Defence.

International Partnership with TBS Education (formerly known as Toulouse Business School)
IIMB has partnered with TBS Education, France to design this programme. The participants on successful completion of the GMAE programme are eligible to pursue a Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) in Aerospace Management from TBS. The GEMBA curriculum has been designed with the GMAE forming the first year of study for this 2-year MBA programme.
Successful participants will receive a certificate from IIMB and TBS for the General Management Programme for Aerospace and Aviation Executives at the end of the first stage and a Global Executive MBA in Aerospace Management from TBS after the completion of the second stage.
The GMAE certificate holders can choose to pursue the GEMBA either immediately after completing the certificate programme or within 2-years of completing the Programme.
Programme Schedule
*In-person – Participants who are in Bangalore or can travel to Bangalore are welcome to attend the classes on our campus. Alternatively, they have the option to attend these classes live online via Zoom.
Payment Schedule
Travel and accommodation costs for the international component will be borne by the participants.
