The General Management Programme on Entertainment & Media Business (GEM) is a certificate programme that has been structured around two main blocks of managing the creative process in entertainment and the business of entertainment.

Programme Overview

The Entertainment industry is a fast-growing business segment. The last two decades have seen large-scale corporatisation of the satellite TV business and feature film business. The COVID induced after-effects have resulted in a high consumption of the visual media. The OTT business has seen an exponential increase in user base, this has also meant OTT platforms have increased their production spends dramatically. However, there are no courses that specialize in the management of Media & Entertainment Business. There is an urgent need to train and equip young managers with unique skill sets to do well in this fast-changing field.

The course provides a framework for understanding the key marketing, technological and strategic issues that organizations face in the Entertainment industry. Key sectors of the entertainment industry are covered, focusing on OTT, feature films, television, e-sports, animation and VFX, music, performing arts, publishing and the impact of Gen AI on the value chain of Entertainment business.
