The IIMB Alumni Club@Taj West End, Bengaluru was inaugurated by Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan, Director IIMB, on 7th May 2023. The gala event was attended by the Club members, their families, and by some faculty members. Mr. Harish, PGP 88 batch, President IIMBAA, addressed the audience and shared the journey of making this dream come true. Mr. Vipul Parekh, PGP 88 batch, was a key driver of this initiative which was in the making for the last few years. The President thanked S .Padmanabhan, PGP 81 batch, Puneet Chhatwal, CEO Tata Hotels, Somnath Mukherjee – General Manager, Taj West End, amongst others for helping in the execution of this unique initiative. IIM Bangalore is the only B-School to set up its own exclusive alumni club. The club is located in an exclusive 20,000 sq. ft space at the 133 year old heritage hotel Taj West End – one of the most sought after hotels in Bangalore.
The IIMB Club premises at the hotel premises was rebuilt and reimagined for the purpose of having an exclusive club for alumni. The membership is limited and has 400 members right now. Corporate Memberships are open. Alumni can enjoy the luxury of having a beautifully crafted and homely place to entertain guests, family, and friends at special rates that are lower than the rates at the Taj.
