IIMB Executive Education is pleased to welcome the 3rd batch of Defence Officers serving in the Short Service Commission of the Indian Military. The programme commenced on 16th April with an inaugural event which comprised of the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and orientation talks by the IIMB professors. This customised ‘Business Management Programme’ enables Defence Officers to make a transition to a successful corporate career, by developing core business and general management competencies.
The Programme Directors Prof. Shainesh, Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, Prof. P.D. Jose and Prof. Debolina Dutta, customised the programme for the participating Defence Officers, such that they learn & practice business management skills along with reorienting their mindset to lead and thrive in senior leadership roles of corporate firms. This 6-month programme also provides them with the platform to enhance their leadership qualities gained while serving in the Indian Armed Forces – as the leadership traits nurtured in a highly disciplined environment of the military will bring a unique perspective to the corporate world.
The DGR (Directorate General Resettlement) is an Inter-Service Organisation under the Ministry of Defence, that assists Defence Officers of the Short Service Commission (SSC) who are about to complete their tenure, to complete a seamless transition to corporate by acquiring new skills with a high emphasis on evolving requirements of the current industry.
