On 26th of May 2023, as a part of IIMB’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Career Development Services and EPGP office hosted several authors, professors and alumni for the IIMB Business Lit Fest. Through fireside chats, panel discussions, Q&As with the audience and book talks, there were discussions regarding storytelling in the field of business, mental health, business and entrepreneurship, and leadership.
The Chief Guest for the event was Ravi Kumar Ramanan, ex CFO IBM India and former Board Member of IBM.
Prof. Ashok Thampy, Chairperson of EPGP spoke about the EPGP programme and Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Dean – Faculty, elaborated on the power of storytelling and data visualization.
We had many alumni authors. Parthasarathy S, PGP 94, author of ‘How To Discover Customer Value’ spoke about his framework for discovering customer value and Sandeep Das, PGP 2009, spoke about the importance of storytelling in business and provided many interesting examples. Furthermore, Aruna Gopakumar, PGP 93, a psychotherapist and TA expert spoke about mental health challenges that people face in their professional life and emphasized the need for seeking the support of experts. We also had Ramesh Venkateswaran, PGP 80, who spoke about success and happiness and shared his framework of five I’s to help people lead a peaceful and enriching life.
Vinay Dabholkar spoke about issues related to mindfulness and enhanced awareness of one’s surroundings. Amit Agarwal and Rajat Jain shared their success mantras on Sales and Coaching.
The track on leadership was moderated by Prof. Debolina, Chairperson Career Development Services and the panellists were SV Nathan, Partner in Deloitte, Dr Sampath JM, Serial Entrepreneur and Guru Prasad Makam, Partner of Guru & Jana.
