On Monday, the executive education department inaugurated the Business Management Programme for Defence Officers (DGR) (Batch 2).
Chief Guests Major General Sharad Kapur, Director General and Major General Ravi Murugan, General officer commanding from the Ministry of Defence addressed the participants along with Professors Rishikesh T Krishnan (IIMB-Director) and Programme Directors Professors G Shainesh and Padmini Srinivasan.
The Business Management Programme for DGR is a part-time hybrid certificate programme for the retiring Officers or are due to retire soon from the Short Service Commission (SSC) and Permanent Commission / Indian Defence Forces. The programme was designed with the goal of equipping officers with the skills and information necessary to successfully transition to the corporate world, while also enhancing general management competences and core business abilities. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that the programme will have on the lives of the participants.
The programme (Sponsored by Ministry of Defence) is based on the highly successful EGMP which is in its 67th edition and IIMBx’ Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). IIMBx is IIMB’s Digital Learning centre (ranked 3rd in MOOC performance among B-Schools globally). This 6 Months Custom Certification programme includes face-to-face lectures from IIMB professors on campus (non-residential programme) as well as self-paced learning through MOOCs from IIMBx (IIMB’s digital learning arm).
