IIMB Executive Education in delighted to inaugurate the 18th batch of General Management Programme for IT Executives (#GMITE18) on the 5th of February 2024. The inaugural event was presided over by Programme Directors Prof. S. Raghunath and Prof. S. Chetan, who initiated the programme by delivering orientation speeches for the participants. All the participants of this programme were seasoned IT professionals aiming to become leaders inspiring the future.

The General Management Programme for IT Executives (GMITE) programme is a long-term part-time course that was designed specifically for software & IT professionals, who are looking to transition from a technical/functional role to a general management role.

Professor Raghunath set the context for the participants, who were all in for an exciting journey to explore the boundaries of senior management practices in the context of IT industry. He also gave them actionable tips for the participants to extract the best out of this programme by following the 4 fundamental practices:

  • Cultivate a habit of reading and learning every day to be on top of all the disruptive changes in the industry.
  • Listen actively to contextually understand what the other person has to say.
  • Communicate effectively to share learnings and enhance networking.
  • Practice efficient time management to balance between work and learning.

The programme commenced with a specialized ice breaking session among the participants and a focused lecture on how to study business cases and gain the maximum benefit out of it.
